Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice (First Impressions Review)

Sunday, March 20, 2016

Hi guys! So recently, Maybelline Philippines has announced that they will have a huge sale and their Creamy Matte Lipsticks line are included on this promo. Now, I'm on a tight budget, but I just can't resist! I got hold of the shade, Touch of Spice (this shade is ALWAYS out of stock! So it was my lucky day!) At first the sales lady told me that there are no more stock which is okay for me since I'm on a budget so I was like "Okay. Maybe next time then since the promo runs for half a month, I'll just get it before it ends." Then just when I was about to leave the aisle, she told me that there were 3 more stocks and that she over looked them. I'm proud of myself though because I just bought one shade.

I bought this for Php199.00 ($4.28) and the original retail price is Php299.00 ($6.44).

Claims: The Creamy Mattes by Color Sensational deliver a red burst of bold color and a surge of creamy texture for the creamiest matte in 20 make-a-statement shades.

It doesn't say if it is long wearing, but it is creamy and it really glides on smoothly and doesn't tug your lips when you apply. There's no tackiness to it but you can definitely feel that you are wearing a lipstick but it's not heavy.

I love the frosted packaging, I think it is really sturdy. It's simple and sleek.

Here is a swatch on the back of my hand. This creamy matte lippie is very pigmented and has a soft appealing scent. I can't describe the scent but it's not irritating at all.

My lips were kind of dry when I applied it and after more than 6 hours, I felt that my lips were moisturized!

This shade was part of the "nude" shades. Not sure about it being nude but if I were to describe the color, it is a deep old rose-mauvey color. I don't have a lipstick close to this shade so I'm grateful that I have this!

The photo above is taken after application. It applied evenly on my lips and did not pick up the dry areas that I had.

After 3 hours of wear, I already ate and drank water, the color is still pretty much the same as before but it did transfer on my glass of water but not overly too much.

This is after more than 6 hours of wear. It's visible that the color has faded but not completely. In the inner part of my lips, the color is gone but on the outline, it is still visible.

Final thoughts.

Pros:
♥ Matte finish.
♥ Not drying on the lips.
♥ Pigmented.
♥ Smooth application.
♥ Worth more than its price.
♥ Love the scent.

Cons:
♦ Not transfer proof.

I highly recommended this you guys! It is so good! Very creamy indeed! It is what it claims to be and really has a matte finish. I love this especially this shade. It compliments almost any kind of skin types. I think I'm going to get "Divine Wine" next. ♥

If you live in the Philippines, promo runs until April 3rd!

Let me know if you have tried this and what shade do you like down in the comments!
Thanks for reading.
