Updated Eyebrow Routine

Saturday, April 09, 2016

Hi guys!

So, it's been a while since I posted an eyebrow routine and that was 2014. I was using my trusty eyebrow pencil from Avon but that was a long time ago. If you want to check it out, click here. Now, I am using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. I had a difficult time using the pomade because it was my first time to use that kind of product and I was applying it wrong and it made my brows look monstrous to be honest. But now, I know how to apply it correctly and just the way I want it.

These are my eyebrow essentials. :) My Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown, San San Cosmetics Concealer in Beige, Marionnaud No. 38 Eyebrow brush and a lip brush that I used for blending the concealer. :)

Now, my eyebrow routine hasn't changed drastically because the way I do it works for me but instead of shaving my eyebrows, I now learned how to pluck them instead. I just pluck the stray hair around the shape of my eyebrows, usually the ones on the lower part and I don't touch the upper part of it.

So here, I've started with "marking" my brows. As you can notice, I've marked the parts where my brows should start, where the arch should be and the end of the tail. Now I know where to direct my brush when outlining the eyebrows.

I've already outlined my eyebrows here and I used a small amount of product with a very light hand to do this. My tip for you is that when dealing with pomades, lightly dab your brush in to the pot for, let's say a couple of times and then using the back of your hand, again, dab the brush in just to take off any excess product.

When filling in, I start at the tail of my brows and work my way towards the center of the brows up to the inner parts. After filling in, you can notice that the application is quite uneven so having a spoolie is a must. I lightly brushed out the harsh edges and brush up the hair on the inner part of the brows to look natural.

Using my eyebrow brush and with the product that is left on it, I mimic the hair on the inner part of the brows by doing small strokes upward.

I like my eyebrows a little light because like I said, I'm going for natural looking brows. With the concealer and a small brush, I outlined my eyebrows and blended it out for better definition.

I blended out the concealer using a brush then later, used my ring finger. I used a concealer that blends with my skin tone because I'm not after highlighting the brows but aiming for that clean look.

And there you go. :)

If you are in the Philippines, I highly recommend the Marionnaud Eyebrow Bush because it is soft and very easy to use plus, very affordable. I got mine around Php60.00 - Php70.00 ($1.52) at SM Department Store/Watsons.

My key tip here is, especially for beginners is to use the right tools and a very light hand when applying especially if you are using pomades. It's good to build up the brows slowly than to apply tons of products that maybe too much for your features. If you like bold eyebrows, add the product little by little until you achieved your desired sculpted and defined brows. Also, don't hesitate to experiment with your brows, whether you like straight ones, high arched or round arch brows because that way, you'll know what suits you best.

So that's it for my updated brow routine. I have to say that I know like using the pomade instead of brow pencil because pomades lasts longer especially with the Philippine weather. :)

So that's it for this post! I hope you find it helpful and let me know what brow product are you currently using! I'm curious! ♥
