Makeup Inspiration for Prom
Tuesday, March 08, 2016
Hi guys!
This is the first time in, perhaps, more than a year, that I'll be sharing to you one of the makeup looks that I did for my niece. It was inspired by "itsgenesys" on Instagram. I love her makeup looks! Everything is just so flawless and just my taste!
I love going for soft and neutral makeup looks just to emphasize the beauty behind the makeup as well. As for my niece, she's just 15 years old so I opted to go light and natural looking.
Here's my makeup inspiration.
This one is soft but bold at the same time. It has some warm neutral tones on the outer corner of the eyes and a soft metallic almost gold shade on the center of the lids and finishing the look with a bold winged liner and falsies. I used this one as a basis on what I would go for and from there, I add some touches, altered and create my own look.
Here are the makeup products that I used for this look. You can tell that these products are well loved. And that small Nichido Palette above is thoroughly abused.
Here's a photo of my niece before. :) I had her hair up and curled while I do her makeup.
And here is the after. I didn't get a shot of her hair but it was curled on the bottom kind of like a vintage look. Like I said, I went for soft look and went big on the lashes. The only thing that's missing is the gold/rose gold eyeshadow . Although, I had one similar to it, it didn't however showed up on this photo like what I was expecting. But, overall, I'm pretty much happy with this look.
Ready for prom! ♥
Ugh, if only I knew how to do my makeup when I went to prom! I would've gone for this look! Thank goodness I don't have any photos! That would've been a throwback nightmare! Hahaha!
Thanks for reading!

I am going to need one of you beauty guru gals to teach me how to do my make up one of these days :P Everything turned out lovely! I love the hair and makeup together!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment! That meant a lot! :D
DeleteShe looks gorgeous! I love this kind of makeup but I never manage to apply it to myself. I am too afraid I will overdo it with colour :(
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the colors, I too am afraid to overdo it or it may come out too strong for my liking. One thing I do is apply a little at first using a light hand, build it up and blend away until I'm satisfied with the look. :)
DeleteNice tips!
ReplyDeleteFor me make up in general and make up technique are SF, but the natural look is the perfect choice! Your niece is gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteThank you! She'll be thrilled when I tell her that! :)
